What is Lottery Sambad?
Lottery Sambad is the popular name for lottery draws conducted by the Nagaland State Lotteries department. The word "Sambad" is widely used across West Bengal, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, and other eastern Indian states where the lottery is popular. The full official name is Nagaland State Dear Lottery Sambad, and it operates under a distinct "Dear" series naming convention where each draw of the day has a unique thematic name.
Popular draw names include Dear Dwarka, Dear Finch, Dear Godavari, Dear Wave, Dear Goose, Dear Indus, Dear Hill, and dozens more. Each name is assigned to a specific time slot on a specific day of the week, cycling through a full weekly schedule.
Lottery Sambad is also known regionally as Dhankesari (in West Bengal), Dear Lottery (nationally), Dear Bangabhumi (West Bengal), and Dear Sikkim — all referring to the same set of government-regulated draws.
